Reel-tastic

Here is a first draft of my Voice Over demos!

I’m still waiting for feedback from several VO friends and my manager. But, I got excited and wanted to share.

If anyone has any thoughts, criticisms, compliments, or complaints, I would love to hear them.

Enjoy!

Is that all you doing different impersonations? If so that’s awesome, you’ve got talent. Hopefully I don’t sound naive cause I’m new/unfamiliar with the VO biz. Do you have equipment helping your voice like a reverb or something?

    • Hah yep, those are all me!

I compiled my reel and mixed it through Adobe Audition. There are some settings where I added a small echo or muffled the voice to make it sound like it was in a different room, but none of that actually changes the tone or quality to my voice– just makes it sound like a different environment.

That’s great! Ok so I can imagine you doing cartoons, advertisements, animations, commercials, radio, movies, etc. If you don’t get a gig out of those demo reels I’d be surprised! I was completely fooled by some of your voices. Great job and good luck.

    Teresa,

Wow! I’m super impressed with all of the subtle (and not so subtle) variations in your voice! You’ve truly created separate and unique characters. When I first heard the little girl’s voice, I thought it was a mistake. I couldn’t make out your voice in her – very cool and a bit scary for me. You should do very well with these reels. I think you are ready to play “The Three Faces of Eve” or “Sybil.” Next stop – looney bin! Seriously, great work! You should be very proud of this work. You should work on getting a VO only agent and get your reel out there!

    Hey Teresa!!

Those were pretty damn amazing and impressive!! The voices were interesting because of all the different ages, backgrounds, accents that you protrayed during the VO’s. I’m guessing there’s a lot of work to be had in VO’s? If I can help in any other ways, just let me know. I love the entertainment industry, but I would have never had the guts to do what you, Katie Wilson and Max, plus countless others have done. You should be totally proud of yourself and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish this coming year and years to come.
    Take care,
    Jim

    • Thank you much, Jim!! I think VO is probably just as competitive as any other creative related field, especially the character and animation stuff. However, there are a lot more VO auditions out there, so there are just more opportunities!
